The Series: On an early morning just after a gentle snow, all was hushed tranquility. The intricate patterns of the bare tree branches amidst the soft contrasts of winter whites and grays became a delicate dance of light and shadow, not dramatic, but contemplative and quiet.

As I was turning around to head home, the scene out my window caught my imagination. I could picture in years gone by, a young sister and brother coming out to skate on the frozen water while the two old trees stood guard. It made me think of how long the trees have stood there and all the things they have seen.
